Joseph Hasper has a growing reputation for his contemporary orchestral and chamber ensemble music, and his music has been played by professional and educational ensembles worldwide.

Hasper has received grants from the American Music Center and Robberson Performance Grant. His awards include The American Prize for Choral Composition (2nd Place) and awards from the Anton Stadler Competition, Parade of American Music Composer's Award, University of North Texas 360-Degree Jazz Competition, and University of Oklahoma Graduate Research and Performance Award.
